Position Summary:

This regional HRBP role will support the Glacial region and Specialty business in Michigan, Wisconsin, Alabama, Indiana, supporting 200+ employees at 2 mills, 1 assembly facility, and 3 concentration yards. This role is ideally suited for a candidate with proven success in HR Generalist roles progressing to the HR Business Partner role or has 1-2+ years of multi-site HRBP experience seeking to develop into an HR Manager. This role will work out of our Grand Rapids, MI, or Elkhart, IN office.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • A highly approachable, customer service-oriented individual that fully represents NWH values to internal employees, customers, and business
  • Competently provides responsive and flexible human resources consultation and tactical support to define and execute HR strategies that accomplish business
  • Converts HR strategies into result-driven
  • Provides day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues; policy interpretation and application; talent management and development; and organizational design
  • Partners with business leaders to grow the capacity of the organization’s key talent to include high potential identification (via Talent Management) and associated development programming, etc.
  • Conducts ongoing supply and demand analysis on current and future state staffing and skillset needs. Generates innovative solutions and talent acquisition strategies toward maintaining fully staffed.
  • Leads full staffing cycle: recruitment efforts, job fairs; college relations programs; general networking; interviews; selection; separations, etc. to ensure robust candidate
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with business leaders to develop solutions, programs and
  • Actively participates in annual budget planning/labor forecasting process with • Champions change management
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and
  • Collaborates as a strategic and tactical team member of the NWH Human Resources organization, often leading projects, and annual HR cycle deliverable to include performance management; merit and bonus awards; benefits enrollment.

  • Identifies and implements training needs for the region and for individual coaching.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Based out of Grand Rapids, MI or Elkhart, IN
  • 3-5 years of work experience with Human Resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, onboarding, performance management) with bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (HR), Business or related field
  • Strong coaching, consulting, and facilitation skills
  • Excellent cross-group collaboration, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, and achieve results in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Fluent in using data to drive insights across the spectrum of HR responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience manipulating and analyzing data to make recommendations and drive organizational change.
  • Make people decisions based on metrics
  • Ability to multitask and be organized. Able to observe the details and comprehensive business outlook.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills to the various stakeholders of the company, including C-Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Human Resources Professional Certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM)
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, preferred
  • Wide degree of creativity, latitude, and self-initiative is expected and willingness to gain exposure to some of the complex tasks within
  • Strong business and people acumen with the ability to influence business leaders around complex HR decisions
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects that have organizational
  • Ability to take initiative on continuous improvement processes and find creative resolutions when the unexpected

Travel: Travel 60% to be successful in supporting the 6 locations in the Glacial and Specialty business
