Purpose of Position:

The Human Resources Assistant is a behind-the-scenes collaborator and colleague whose main job responsibilities are to assist the Human Resources Manager in accomplishing Human Resources tasks. Administrative in nature, this job involves recruiting, onboarding, off-boarding, data entry, payroll administration and more.

WAGES:

This is an hourly position with a rate of $18.15-$22.15 per hour + eligibility to receive up to an additional 52% of your gross monthly earnings through our monthly profit sharing program. Base hourly rate would be up to $34,848.00-$42,528.00 (gross) annually with additional potential earnings up to $18,120.96-$22,114.56 (gross) respectively.

MAX earning potential not included overtime wages earned = $64,642.56 (gross)

Essential Functions:

  • Verbally communicate and adjust communications based upon the receiving audience.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and integrity of human resources files, records and circumstances of active and terminated team members.
  • Perform periodic audits of files and records.
  • Provide clerical support to the Human Resources Department.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training strategies and initiatives in line with the overall business strategy and goals.
  • Communicate with Department Managers, Shift Managers, and Team Leads (Supervisors) to determine if an individual or group needs training/retraining on specific departmental functions.
  • Assist in the creation of current and future training needs through development/creation, engagement, and motivation.
  • Assists in personnel issues, concerns, or complaints and engaging the Human Resources Manager when escalation is necessary.
  • Provide excellent customer service to team members at all levels, visitors, and vendors.
  • Send weekly notices to Supervisors, Shift Managers, and/or Department Managers when documentation is outstanding, including but not limited to absence forms, reviews and corrective actions.
  • Set appointments and arrange meetings as needed.
  • Nurture a positive work environment.
  • Assist in conducting benefit enrollment of new hires and during active open enrollment years.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel and medical files for all active and terminated team members.
  • Assist with planning, organizing and executing special events.
  • Assist in conducting and finalizing bi-weekly payroll.
  • Participate in New Hire Orientation with onboarding team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Attending Human Resources related training minimum of once annually.
  • Fill in for front desk when necessary.
  • Answer office bell, doors and phones when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read and comprehend English
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, UKG, Quickbase
  • Previous Human Resources or related experience
  • Comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but still able to recognize and support the organization’s mission
  • Self-directed/self-managed
  • Excellent time management skills

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Media creation experience
  • Data entry experience
  • One year working in a customer oriented environment
  • Associated degree in related field.

Environmental Conditions:

This position exists in an indoor manufacturing facility, but this position primarily resides in an office setting. The overall work environment is within manufacturing with exposure to loud noises and to fumes, odors and dusts.
