Human Resources Administrator Job at WAXIE Sanitary Supply
As the Human Resources Administrator for WAXIE’s Southwest Desert Region, which includes primarily the Mesa, AZ branch along with our Tucson, AZ and Las Vegas, NV branches, you will serve as a “jack of all trades”. Although you will physically sit in the Mesa office 85-90% of the time, you will travel by car to Tucson and by plane to Las Vegas on a frequent basis. Reporting to the HR Supervisor with a dotted line to the SW Desert Region General Manager/VP, you will provide a wide range of HR support and general administrative support to the WAXIE Southwest Desert Region's management team and employees. This is an in-office position; remote work is not available due to the nature of the role and being the front-line HR representative supporting approximately 120 employees and managers throughout 3 branches.
Pay: This is a non-exempt position with high possibility for overtime (average 5 hours per week but could fluctuate) based on the needs of the business and travel expectations. Up to $30/hr depending on experience.

Essential Duties:
- Employee Files Maintain employee personnel and medical files for the branch.

Onboarding/Offboarding Conduct New Hire Orientations and compile all necessary paperwork to send to Corporate Human Resources. Maintain new hires and former employee information in WAXIE’s HRIS database.

Memos Create and edit employee correspondence memos for new hires, exiting employees, special announcements, etc.

Recruiting Responsible for recruiting for Southwest Desert Region's open positions, phone screening, interviewing, extending offers, and coordinating new hire paperwork.

Benefit Administration Act as the local liaison between employees and our Corporate Benefits Department serving as a resource to answer all benefit-related questions. Assist with open enrollment facilitation and paperwork collection.

Compliance Ensure compliance with WAXIE policies, EEO, FLSA, Federal and State Laws. Keep bulletin boards up-to-date and accurate per regulations.

Payroll Assist managers in approving bi-weekly timecards using ADP e-Time. Updating and editing timecards throughout the pay period as needed. Auditing and processing approved timecards to Corporate Payroll Department.

HRIS Act as the local HRIS expert and assist in training new and current employees on our ADP system.

Worker’s Compensation Assist in filing Worker’s Comp claims with insurance carrier and employee; maintain OSHA 300 logs; keep Corporate HR informed for tracking purposes.

LOA Guide managers and employees through FMLA, PLOA, Disability Insurance, and Return-to-Work-Restriction processes.

Employee Relations Assist with responding to unemployment claims and with performing HR investigations (i.e. discrimination, harassment, wage and hour law discrepancies, etc.). Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues and ensure that Corporate Human Resources is involved on all warranted issues.

Event Coordinating Assist in planning employee banquets and meetings including, but not limited to; holiday parties, sales banquets, vendor meetings, staff meetings and branch “Employee of the Quarter” meetings.
- Performance Management Assist management with the timely completion of annual performance evaluations and assist in the progressive discipline process through helping to “wordsmith” and ensuring local consistency.
- Safety Help coordinate branch safety initiatives as local Safety Coordinator to identify injury trends and prevention. Ensure all staff members are up to date on HAZMAT and DOT related trainings.

Other duties as assigned Including, but not limited to; ordering special occasion gifts, running reports for analytics and data processing, etc.

Previous experience working with databases and cloud based computer systems

Experience presenting information in front of small to medium sized audience
