Position and Division Information
The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a non-permanent, full-time Human Resource Consultant Assistant 2 in the Human Resources Division. This position is located in Tumwater, Washington and is anticipated to last 12 months from date of appointment. This position is not union-represented.
Division Description
The HR Generalists provide guidance on personnel and human resource related issues, reasonable accommodations, Worker's Compensation claims, the return to work program, provide mediation services and review positions for correct allocations. The Training Unit offers a wide range of classes including Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and CLE Lite courses. Most training is conducted by in-house experts utilizing electronic materials. The Recruitment Team employs innovative strategies to recruit the most qualified candidates to fill AGO vacancies, and the Operations Team manages the personnel side of payroll actions, data management, personnel policy updates and personnel records.

What does a Human Resource Consultant Assistant 2 do?
In support of the organizational mission and values of the Attorney General’s Office, you will join a tight-knit and helpful team, providing vital support to two units within Human Resources – recruitment and consulting.
You will assist recruiters in maintaining open positions under general supervision. Using your attention to detail and organizational skills, you will archive positions that have been filled, track key dates and maintain records consistent with Washington State and Agency regulations. You will utilize your knowledge of computer systems to close and archive positions using the online platform NEOGOV, maintain internal data, and use your proven organizational skills to prioritize workload.
You will assist consultants in organizing records for retention purposes in accordance with the records retention schedule and under general supervision. You will use your attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills to effectively organize records, spotting potential issues and discussing these with your supervisor, to ensure consistency within the records retained.
Desired qualifications:
Four years of office experience including two years of experience in a human resource or related setting

Conditions of Employment
Per AGO Policy, employees and volunteers of the AGO must be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment. Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Effective March 14, 2022, the AGO announced pursuant to its policy, that employees and volunteers must also receive a booster shot as a condition of employment. Employees or volunteers who are not eligible to receive the booster before their start date, due to required waiting times after receiving their initial vaccine(s), must provide confirmation of the vaccine type and date received so the AGO can calculate the date by which they must receive the booster. If you are selected to serve within the AGO as an employee or volunteer, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination and booster (if already received) before you are able to begin work. You may request an accommodation if you are unable to meet the requirement due to a medical or religious necessity.
