A premier manufacturer of quality bakery products is seeking a temp to perm HR Manager.

Hours/Schedule: Full-time

Job Type: Temp to perm

Location Requirements: On-site in North Andover with remote Fridays

Rate: $45-$50/ hour

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Interim VP of Human Resources, and as a member of the HR Team, you will support the administration and execution of HR functions such as Onboarding, Benefits, Leave Management, Payroll & Status Changes, POC for Employee Relations escalations, and Corrective Actions as well as general communication.
Responsibilities:

Benefits:

  • Manage daily benefit processing including enrollments, claims and terminations, with high proficiency.
  • Review with new hires the details of the company’s core benefit programs.
  • Resolve benefit-related issues and respond to inquiries and/or requests in a timely manner by leveraging broker, and being a liaison to associates.
  • Process monthly COBRA insurance premiums as payment (medical, dental, life, STD/LTD).
  • Under the direction of the VP of Human Resources evaluate value of current benefits and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Work closely with payroll department to ensure timely and accurate payments to employees.
  • Collaborate with Payroll on maintaining and creating Benefit billing reports and/or resolving benefit-billing issues.
  • Prepare COBRA and Unemployment notices and any related paperwork for associate separations.
  • Maintain and update employee benefit files, I-9 records, and all vendor-billing records.

On-boarding:

  • Responsibility for end-to-end on boarding of all new and transferring associates, including time keeping set up, and ADP on boarding.
  • Create and manage all new hire paperwork, schedule and conduct new employee orientation and benefit orientation.
  • Administer and maintain the 90-day new hire review process to include creating and forwarding review forms to supervisors/managers to complete.
  • Oversight for associate locker & uniform issuance and tracking.

Employee Relations:

  • Demonstrated aptitude for employee relations, with ability to scope & run investigations, provide urgency in prioritizing, and bring to swift closure as needed (in order to maintain associate confidence and minimize disruptions in the department).
  • Ability to identify and handle priority and/or sensitive issues with discretion and a commitment to confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Knowledge HR principles and best practices
  • Experience coordinating with leave management vendor (FMLA, MA-PFML, STD and Workers Comp)
  • Prior experience using ADP Workforce Now software is highly desirable.
  • Recordkeeping practices and retention limits
  • Ability to multi-task and change focus quickly to accommodate service needs of associates
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines
  • Previous experience working with time and attendance files and HRM systems interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university
  • 5+ years in an HR Generalist role
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
