Part time, 25 hours/wk. Mon-Fri 10am-2pm

General Description

Responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Human Resources for all human resource issues. Ensures organizational effectiveness and efficiency within the human resources department and payroll aspect of the business department. This position will have considerable contact within all levels of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management or related degree preferred, proven work experience as a recruiter with at least five years of experience in the field of HR. Excellent interpersonal, communication (written/verbal) and organization skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Understanding of labor laws within the states of RI and MA.

Job Responsibilities

Assists HR department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all employees.

Forward applications to Directors/Supervisors from our website

Assists in recruitment efforts and interview process agency wide.

Sourcing and attracting candidates by using social media.

Send out offer letters.

Conducting reference checks

Conducting required employee background checks to include BCI, CORI, DCYF, DPPC, Driving Record and OIG

Keep recruitment tracking sheet updated.

Develop and update job descriptions.

Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/colleges, etc.

Work with local High Schools “School to Career” program to get summer help and also the Colleges for interns.

In conjunction with HR/Payroll Associate, conducts new employee orientation.

Assists with surveys.

Assists in organizational training and development efforts.

Assists with job fairs.

Assists Director of HR with various special projects

Assist with the processing of payroll in the absence of the HR/Payroll Coordinator

Assist with benefit enrollment as needed.

Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
