HR Generalist Responsibilities
- Perform functions required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, and morale.
- Run the recruitment process. Working with hiring managers, facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants; maintain recruitment reports and ensure recruitment/hiring approvals are obtained.
- Manage employee on-boarding; documents, policies, I-9 and e/verify paperwork. Conduct new hire presentations during the onboarding process. Keep employee electronic files current.
- Plan and host employee celebration events. Coordinate the Service Award Program and recognition gifts for employee life events.
- Administer the company’s rewards programs; maintain up to date wage scales, process annual merit increase, promotions/demotions and adjustments.
- Maintain the company’s performance management program; develop evaluation cycles, ensure timely completion of new employee and annual reviews, support management during the process, and create in-process reports on demand.
- Administer company programs; ensure scholarship payments, tuition reimbursements, and gym membership credits are compliant with program policies.
- Administer the company’s separation process. Prepare paperwork, conducts exit interviews, and updates employee files. Identify trends and work with managers to address issues and concerns.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; refer complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director for guidance.
Payroll Responsibilities
- Support the administration, processing, and running of the company’s weekly payroll. Responsible for full-cycle payroll once a month and during Payroll Administrator’s time off.
- Maintain payroll records, spreadsheets, and information for the complete, accurate, and timely completion of payroll.
- Process employee data for new hires, changes, and additions and maintain payroll records.
- Prepare weekly financial reports. Participate in month-end/year-end reporting and annual audits. Create reports on demand and ensure government and company reporting compliance.
- Develop and run standard and custom reports for internal and external reporting; benefits, headcount, turnover, OT, org charts, and other reports as required.
Benefits/Leave Responsibilities
- Administer all benefit programs and work closely with the corporate office and healthcare vendors to resolve employee benefit concerns, answer questions, and provide guidance.
- Administer NY and CA leave programs such as medical, family, disability, workers’ compensation, and government mandated leaves.
- Effectively interpret FMLA, CFRA, and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities and makes recommendations to employee leave policies. Maintains the company’s COVID programs and reporting.
- Ensure all compliance reporting, forms, and posters are up to date and maintained accurately.
