Human Resource Generalist: Will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
  • Submit online job postings, shortlist candidates, and schedule job interviews
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, office meetings, and employee recognition programs.
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Answers the telephone, assists with customer requests, relays messages, and maintains supplies.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to HR standard policies and practices.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Utilize Payroll Software to Process Payroll in an efficient manner.
  • Enter/Process Wage Levies and Garnishments.
  • Complete employment verifications.
  • Assist Leadership with reports or projects.
  • Supports policies relating to all phases of human resource activities, including recruitment and selection, policy/practices, discipline, personnel issues, payroll processing, training and development, benefits administration, FMLA, Workman’s compensation, and OSHA tracking and reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
  • Deep understanding of labor laws, employment equity regulations, HR functions, and best practices.


Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in human resources or related field (preferred).
  • 2 years of human resources experience or related office experience (preferred).


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
