Altoona Center for Nursing Care — conveniently located in Downtown Altoona — is a 120-bed Skilled Nursing Center. The first floor houses a Rehabilitation Unit, complete with physical, occupational, and speech-language therapies.
To help support this mission, our center seeks a Housekeeping Aide to perform a number of daily housekeeping functions in an effort to maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment for residents, visitors, families and staff.
Housekeeping Aide responsibilities include:
- Providing a clean and sanitary environment for all residents, visitors, staff and families
- Assuring resident rooms and furnishings are clean and sanitized
- Maintaining cleaning carts and equipment
- Following infection control policies/procedures to prevent the spread of illness and disease
- Ensuring rooms are properly ventilated to prevent condensation, mold growth and odors
- Collecting trash from patient and resident areas daily, and disposing properly
- Cleaning and sanitizing all bathrooms, residents’ rooms, public spaces and offices
- Dusting and cleaning walls, windows, screens and privacy curtains
- Reporting burned out lights and light bulbs to the maintenance unit clerk immediately
- Additional maintenance duties, as needed
All applicants must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions, and must display strong communication, tact and interpersonal skills. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Previous housekeeping experience is preferred. Please detail experience on resume to include any housekeeping experience; use of floor care equipment, etc. Rotating days off and every other weekend off.
