Summary

The Driskill Hotel opened its doors in 1886 as one of the most luxurious Texas hotels in its day. Since its opening the hotel has been an integral part of the fabric in the city of Austin. The Driskill joined the Hyatt family of hotels in 2013; and has become a benchmark for the new Unbound Collection by Hyatt.

The Operations Analyst is an entry-level leader who will provide analytical and administrative support for the hotel Operations. This position reports to the hotel General Manager.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting the Operations Management team in various functions and filling in as needed
  • Provide in-depth analysis, highlight drivers, and recommend actionable suggestions using customer data to support delivery of financial targets
  • Track and monitor cost savings initiatives on an ongoing basis and provide periodic reports on those initiatives
  • Create and maintain consistent and actionable scorecard reporting
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and the ability to influence and challenge the status quo - Analyze and monitor KPI’s that capture customer feedback, productivity and revenue performance for Operations
  • Conduct and/or review labor utilization analysis by comparing cover volume & revenues for different time periods and provide feedback to appropriate Food & Beverage management teams
  • Conduct and/or review labor utilization analysis by comparing hotel occupancy to hours worked for Rooms management teams
  • Review and/or prepare holiday recaps/comparisons, including revenues, covers, & special offerings as well as customer service feedback and metrics for the Rooms division. Communicate results with F&B and Rooms management team
  • Responsible for all completed recipes that are input into Birchstreet, as well as revisions that are required due to menu changes. Communicate food costs and menu price discrepancies
  • Accurately complete theoretical cost summary spreadsheet reconciling all actual and theoretical costs. Distribute report to upper management and the Executive team
  • Program all menu changes, additions, deletions, menu class changes, screen revisions, etc. in EMC Micros. Research issues and coordinate with the IT department problems that have no resolution. Responsibilities may include other analytical and/or research & development projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Intelligence, or Economics required
  • 2 years of Finance or Business Management experience required
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to problem solve by integrating and analyzing data from various sources
  • Advanced MS Excel/Power Point skills required
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks conforming to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance at times
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and be an enthusiastic team player
  • Effective communicator and collaborator
