Jupiter, a second restaurant from the team behind King, will celebrate the generous simplicity of regional Italian food and drink in New York’s iconic Rockefeller Center. Located at the North Side of the rink, the restaurant will become an essential part of Midtown’s new “town square” with its focused menu of antipasti and pasta, aperitivo and wines, and King’s signature warm hospitality.

We are looking for Hosts to greet guests with a warm, friendly greeting paired with a smile. The first welcome is the first impression, and it is vital that hosts are outgoing, vivacious, warm and friendly. In addition, Hosts are expected to help with any table setting needs, including clearing, re-setting and water service.

What you’ll do:

• Offer a warm, caring, and friendly hospitality and attentive and technically proficient service to all guests. Responsible for being the guests advocate throughout their restaurant experience
• Communicate openly and thoroughly with supervisor and for bringing any and all guest concerns to supervisor’s attention immediately
• Graciously greet guests upon their arrival and escort them to a table, balancing the customer flow among the service stations, considering requests for a particular table or server, depending on availability
• Continuously check reservations sheet throughout the evening, for any new reservations that come in
• Take reservations for guests in the restaurant and guests who are put through directly to the restaurant phone
• Check table settings for proper presentation and completeness, and check service tray stations for adequacy of supplies used for refill or replacement purposes
• Communicate with guests and supervisors in the event of a seating delay
• Complete additional tasks as requested by the team and management

Who you are:

• You are passionate about the hospitality industry and thrive in fast-paced environments
• You have 1+ years of experience as a Host, or 2 years as a Maitre D’
• You are a team player with clear communication and follow through
• You have attention to detail and initiative to problem solve as needed
• You are able to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods of time
• You are able to communicate in English, through written and verbal communications
• You are able to lift 30+ pounds
• You are available on nights, weekends and holidays, as needed

Position is $17.00/hour, plus tips, minus the tip credit memo.
