Looking for a welcoming and patient caring part-time Music Therapist to join our team at Comfort and Peace Hospice. Patient Care is our number one priority and responsibility. We are a hospice company that is expeditiously growing and expanding. We are seeking a Hospice Music Therapist who understands our core values and can exude them in the position offered.

Job Description Summary

Coordinates, evaluates and provides music therapy to patients receiving hospice care.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

1. Develops, coordinates and provides and organized music therapy program.

2. Provides music therapy in alignment with the needs of the patient and physical limitations.

3. Develops a plan of care.

4. Completes all documentation as required by the organization in compliance with legal, Governmental and accreditation requirements.

5. Attends all mandatory in-services, workshops and conferences,

6. Participates in Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Activities.

7. Performs other job-related tasks as requested.

Position Qualifications

1. Certified music therapist from an established music therapy institute.

2. Licensed driver with reliable automobile which is insured in accordance with state law.

Physical Requirements

Strength: Frequently required to push/pull and lift to 25 pounds of weight.

Manual Dexterity: Constantly required to perform simple motor skills and manipulative skills such as standing, walking, writing and use of various types of therapeutic and office equipment. Frequently required to perform moderately difficulty manipulative skills such as positioning patients and use of more complex office and therapeutic equipment.

Coordination: Constantly required to perform gross body coordination such as walking, stopping, standing while performing tasks, carrying and lifting objects.

Mobility: Frequently required to walk and stand, including for long periods of time. Frequently required to remain in uncomfortable positions for long periods of time, such as bending over equipment, counter, tables. Etc.

Visual Discrimination: Constantly required to see objects closely to allow reading instructions, physician orders, computer screen and measurement tools. Frequently required to discriminate colors on charts, equipment panels or warning lights. Occasionally required to use depth perception and judge distance, size, color and shape of an object.
