Job Description

Performs general office duties for the Health Information Management Department under the supervision of the manager. Duties include: answering the telephone, statistics, assembly and analysis of records, filing and retrieving medical records and loose papers, processing mail, and other duties as assigned. The position requires the person ensures that patient privacy and confidentiality is protected through following the guidelines of the hospital.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with courses in typing, filing, office methods, computers, etc.
• Prior office experience, including computers, statistics, abstracting and filing is preferred
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills and behaviors. Must be able to adjust to changes in programs/processes
• Work effectively in a team environment
