The Colorado Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has four major operational divisions: Army national Guard, Air National Guard, Civil Air Patrol, and Veterans Affairs. This position is located at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora and reports to a Transportation Maintenance III. Responsibilities include providing vehicle and equipment maintenance, repair, and upkeep in support of the military airfield and facilities daily maintenance at both Buckley Air Force Base and Greeley Air National Guard Station. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and overhauling vehicles and equipment;
- inspecting, servicing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment;
- instructing operators in the use and care of equipment and vehicles;
- inventory, tracking, and documenting of parts, tools, supplies, equipment, services, and repairs;
- purchasing and ordering parts, tools, and supplies; and
- performing other duties as required to include pavement repair, snow removal, airfield maintenance, operating construction and mowing equipment, and operating runway sweepers.
- Two years of experience repairing, inspecting, servicing, diagnosing, and maintaining agricultural and construction equipment of which six months must have included operating heavy construction equipment and heavy snow removal equipment.
- Commercial Driver's License, Class B or higher, with airbrake endorsement is a requirement.
- Willing to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
- Must successfully pass a background check and/or security clearance.
