The Family Behavioral Health Information Systems Specialist 1 provides technical support for all Medicaid services and required documentation input into the Family Behavioral Health Electronic Health Record (EHR) to support Medicaid billing and service encounter tracking. Work is performed under the supervision of the FBH Healthcare Data Administrator; however, the position requires a level of independence and technical expertise across sites and systems of care throughout Family Behavioral Health.
JOB SUMMARY:
This postion includes the following responsibilities:
Electronic Health Record and MIS Database Management
- Will support the execution and upgrades to the FBH Management Information System to support full integration and utilization of FBH Electronic Health Record.
- Which may include training that supports user access to the FBH MIS system.
- System wide support for compliance with Medicaid, funder and contract requirements for monitoring and troubleshooting of funder/state submissions and error reports, ensuring errors are corrected in a timely manner.
- Support the functioning of computer information resources supporting FBH’s data security, strategic outcome computing and recovery of data in the event that recovery is required.
Information System User Support
- Provides Information System User Support for all FBH sites including service encounters audits and is responsible for supporting clinical staff by producing reports from both FBH and funder MIS systems.
- Evaluates and resolves user problems by contacting appropriate resources for additional assistance and assists with setup and maintenance of user accounts and security level assignment.
- Instructs computer system users in the use of computer equipment and of computer applications; answers questions and assists in resolving problems regarding the methods and procedures for using computer applications.
- Implements and communicates protocols as needed to support compliance with FBH written procedures for use of the management information system and any auxiliary programs to support Medicaid required data entry.
Electronic Health Record (EHR) Development:
- Development and maintenance of custom forms - system-wide, site & funder specific.
- Assist with the evaluation and implementation/expansion for any auxiliary program that may enhance our current database or EHR.
Funder Data Interface:
- May attend funders MIS meetings as CCS-FBH representative to interpret and communicate system technical information regarding site and end user needs.
- Will network and build positive relationships with funders, vendors, and CCS staff in order to be proactive in identifying and addressing potential MIS issues or concerns.
Report Writing and Form Design:
- Analyze the operational computing procedures of FBH’s reporting system and make recommendations for service encounter and reporting improvements.
- Develops and maintains custom forms to be used in the FBH EHR.
- Provide technological solutions that can be applied to the ongoing development and provides technical support for automating traditional processes, forms, and input designs.
- Ensures staff has on-line access to all Behavioral Health and Medicaid required reports and forms, including set-up, training and troubleshooting required for Medicaid service encounter reporting.

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING IN A CANDIDATE:
- AA degree or relevant experience providing Information System support for a Behavioral Health System.
- Two years’ experience providing informational systems technical support for a Behavioral Health System utilizing an Electronic Health Record.
- Two years’ experience working with Database Systems or other relevant experience with increased responsibilities.
- Strong computer skills especially in Windows, Excel, and Access.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to work in a busy and diverse environment.
- Must have an acceptable driving record per CCS driving policy (required to provide current driving abstract).
- Applicant must successfully pass required background checks prior to an offer of employment.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.

- Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge, and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multi-cultural environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using Care Logic or other Behavioral Health Electronic Health Record.
- Advanced skill level in using Pentaho.
- Experience working with MCOs/ASOs/ICNs.
- Experience working in a private non-profit setting.
