Headmaster / Head of School - Thornton, Colorado Job at Ascent Classical Academies
Do you want to be a leader in the rapidly expanding world of classical education? Ascent Classical Academies is currently seeking a headmaster who shares a passion for our mission to grow the classical education movement for our new school opening in fall 2023 in northeast Denver, Colorado within the geographic boundaries of the 27J school district.
The Headmaster is the Master Teacher and Chief Executive for the operation of the School and ultimately responsible for the success of the education of the students in accordance with the principles and requirements set forth in the authorizing documents including the charter contract. As leader of the School, the Headmaster must have high moral character and embrace the virtues of a free and just society. The Headmaster is also committed to curricular and workplace excellence in the School as well as operational excellence through support and buy-in of ACA's entrepreneurial operating system (EOS). The Headmaster balances flexibility and innovation with discernment and consistency while staying faithfully committed to the mission and vision of ACA, as well as laws, guidance, and best practices. The Headmaster reports to the CEO/Executive Director and is accountable for the School's performance to the Governing Board.

Ascent Classical Academies is a dynamic education company that partners with a network of classical charter schools based in Colorado delivering a content-rich curriculum in the liberal arts and sciences, with underlying principles in the Western tradition of the study of history, literature, philosophy, and fine arts. Our American Classical Education includes, among other things, the study of Latin; a rich examination of American literary, moral, philosophical, political, and historical tradition; and a school culture centered upon moral virtue, respect, discipline, and studiousness among students and faculty alike. Ascent Classical Academy charter schools currently serve approximately 1,700 students in K-12 campuses located in the Denver and Fort Collins areas of Colorado, with significant expansion planned throughout Colorado and beyond.

Employment Type: Full-time, Exempt
Pay Range: $90,000 to $120,000, highly dependent on experience and qualifications, as well as funding and enrollment to be determined
Location: Thornton area, Colorado (TBD)

- Master's Degree or higher preferred for school leadership
- Significant experience in classical education and school leadership
- 5 years or more classroom experience
- Exceptional organizational skills, and experienced management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively articulate information and issues
- Understanding of Ascent Classical Academies' mission and vision and a commitment to the growth and expansion of classical education
