The Head of Central Operations is a key leadership role with significant and broad responsibilities that directly affect the organization's profitability. This role will report directly to the Director of Central Operations and will provide direction, guidance, and oversight of the operations function across our two centralized locations in Ponchatoula, LA and Charlotte, NC. In this capacity, the individual will lead the teams responsible for legal processing, bankruptcy, vehicle repossession, insurance claims processing, debt settlement agencies negotiation, and account maintenance. This role will collaborate closely with peers in the Call Center, Digital and Transformation team in Central Operations as well as the Operations Analytics team. By partnering and collaborating with the other business heads, you will enhance operational execution, improve standards and best practices, improve customer experience and deliver expected results. In addition, you will work closely with branch operations, credit risk, compliance, audit, legal, and other key partners who may be both internal and external to the organization. Job responsibilities are as follows:

  • Manage and lead a team across our two locations of 100+ team members.
  • Ensure department standards and performance goals are achieved while maintaining operations and expense budget.
  • Develop strong bench strength by improving leadership team members skills through coaching and performance feedback.
  • Improve employee engagement through communication, and recognition.
  • Maintain updated process and procedures documentation and communicate revisions.
  • Ensure departmental process execution and specifications are aligned with regulatory and audit standards.
  • Proactively lead strategic projects and implement innovative improvements while defining and measuring success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement but no less than 60% ‘in office’ while in primary location city
  • 40% minimum travel is required to manage second location
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related concentration
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Consumer Finance managing loss mitigation, collection, repossession and legal filings.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in vehicle refinance from onboarding through to loss mitigation processing is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills and people development experience
  • Experience in managing large teams across multiple locations.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Project management experience leading multiple programs/projects simultaneously
  • Operates at the highest level of integrity and demonstrates a transparent approach to managing
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Experience in process design and optimization a plus
