Head Men's & Women's Golf Coach / Success Center Instructor OR Enrollment Coach Job at Iowa Lakes Community College
GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
This is a full-time, 260-day contract position located on the Estherville Campus. Responsible for the day-to-day management and organization of the Men’s and Women’s Golf programs including games and practices, evaluation and recruitment of student athletes, academic monitoring of team, promotion of current players to four-year institutions, and management of budgets within program. Student Success Center/Advising or Enrollment Coach duties as assigned based on the successful candidate’s skill set.

- Preparation of student athletes for intercollegiate competition.
- Daily management of golf program.
- Recruitment of student athletes
- Academic monitoring of student athletes.
- Supervision of graduate assistant.
Success Center Instructor
- Proctor various exams in the Advising/Success Center for credit and non-credit students.
Enrollment Coach
- Contact high schools in assigned territories while maintaining records and documenting all contacts and follow-up conversations.
- Assist in hosting visitors to campus by responding to questions, giving college tours, and providing college information.
- Serve as primary point of contact for prospective students and help them navigate through the enrollment process while maintaining a high level or customer service throughout all interactions.
Frequent (34-66%)
Head Golf Coach
- Become familiar with and compliant with NJCAA rules and regulations.
- Monitor and maintain budgets within the golf program.
- Development of annual golf schedule.
- Assist with placement of student athletes at four-year colleges.
- Monitor and maintain budgets.
Success Center Instructor
- Appropriately answer questions about college admittance, testing requirements, program course requirements, and the HSED and ESL programs.
- Tutor students in developmental math and/or writing.
- Work collaboratively with Advising/Success Center Supervisor on daily tasks and projects.
Enrollment Coach
- Travel extensively in assigned areas with some overnight travel.
Occasional (10-33%)
Head Golf Coach
- Attend and participate in athletic department fundraising activities.
- Attendance at monthly coaching staff meetings.
- Maintain progress reports and student records/files.
Success Center Instructor
- Other duties as assigned in Advising/Success Center area.
Enrollment Coach
- Attend assigned college day/night fairs throughout the school year.

- Represent the College in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors, parents, and the general public.
- Recruit a full team roster of student athletes.
- Assume responsibility, deal effectively with problems, and exercise independent judgment when making decisions.
- Effectively monitoring and maintaining budgets.
- Read, understand, and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written communications.
- Be creative, energetic, and self-motivated individual with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.

- Ability to interpret and comply with all college and NJCAA regulations and policies.

- Make appropriate recommendations to supervisor.

- Possess a sincere commitment to customer service and quality.
- Knowledgeable of the college and able to provide effective academic advising for students.
SPECIAL DEMANDS:
Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time; with coaching duties requiring standing most of the time, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, carrying and repetitive motion occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting, grasping frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, and viewing various types of close visual work constantly (67-100%). May be required to travel utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record and provide proof of insurance.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree required with preferred fields in education, English, mathematics or science. Master’s Degree preferred. Three years of experience as Head Golf Coach and/or college player desired. Student services experience preferred.
Salary: $45,561 for 260-day contract
