Job Description
- Communicates with Manager, Supervisor or Hazardous Materials Lead to identify hazardous material documentation, handling, storage, and disposal requirements.
- Maintain a current knowledge of Federal, State, and Corporate environmental regulations and procedures.
- Receives stores, distributes and disposes of chemicals controlled or regulated by the Hazardous Materials department as prescribed by federal, state and company regulations.
- Complies with Federal, state local or company regulations/requirements company procedures for transportation, temporary storage, treatment, reclamation, and shipment of hazardous waste.
- Performs inspections of all satellite collection areas, 90-day storage areas, and other hazardous materials facilities as required.
- Perform routine maintenance, and repair as needed, all applicable equipment. .
- Assists in inventory management of all necessary materials to ensure process operation, including raw materials/chemicals. .
- Develops operational improvements and analyzes problems and initiates corrective action as required.
- Assists in training/retraining of new personnel. .
- Monitors the receiving, stocking and disbursements of hazardous materials ensuring that all records, inspections and system transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Directs fellow employees on proper hazardous waste/material handling.
- Performs various regulatory inspections to ensure compliance with legal and other requirements.
- Perform emergency spill response for all facilities. .
- Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Corporate environmental regulations.
- Basic math skills are required.
- Knowledge of procedures for the handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials, and possession of associated certifications.
