Texas HCS, Inc. is hiring a Full-Time or Part-Time RN to provide coordination of a variety of nursing services for individuals with intellectual disabilities in group home and natural home settings in the Harlingen area. This RN position is similar to home-health nursing, with some duties and documentation specific to meet the unique requirements of HCS (Home and Community-Based Services) or ICF/ID (intermediate Care Facility for the Intellectually Disabled) regulations. Our program provides a rewarding job experience for anyone interested in promoting the independence of people with disabilities.

FT Shift: Monday - Friday Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pm

Duties include:

• Comprehensive and Focused Nursing Assessments
• Training of unlicensed personnel
  • Medication management and administration
  • Documentation of care for 6 hours per day
  • Medical tasks and care
• Coordinating medication supplies, medical appointments, medical emergency management, over-the-phone triage, medication management and general nursing quality
• Narrative RN notes required for all tasks, approximately every 15 minutes

Qualifications:

• Valid RN License Required
• Valid and current Texas Driver's License
• Clear Background Check
• Clear DMV Check
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Proof of Education
• No confirmation of Abuse/Neglect/Exploitation of an elderly or disabled person
• No history of Medicaid fraud.
• Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (group home experience preferred)
• Strong communication and team-participation skills; friendly, positive attitude.
• General computer skills (not necessarily expert); be able to use Word, Excel, Outlook, and general internet navigation.
