Handling Qualities and Control Law Engineer (Multiple Openings):
Bell has multiple openings for Control Law and Handling Qualities Engineers. We are developing new vertical lift concepts to transform the way that man flies. These programs and positions may be located at Bell's headquarters facility in Ft. Worth, TX or the Bell Flight Research Center in Arlington, TX.
Position Responsibilities:
- Control Law design and development
- Integration of Control Laws into flight simulation programs
- Aircraft Stability and Control Analysis
- Linear and non-linear analysis of flight control systems
- Aircraft handling qualities analysis and test
- Requirements management
- Verification and validation testing in simulation environment and systems integration labs
- Conducting aircraft flight tests
- Aircraft/system qualification and certification
- Interface with other functions and management on the program
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Major in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
- Master’s degree in engineering is preferred.
Position Requirements:
- Multiple levels of experience will be considered with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in the Aerospace industry.
- Must be a proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with excellent written and oral communication skills, and PC skills.
- MathWorks MATLAB / Simulink with State flow and Embedded Coder preferred
- ADS-33 and other Handling Qualities specifications preferred
- Aircraft System Identification preferred
- Control Law Optimization preferred
- Aircraft flight test preferred
- Flight control system development and testing in a systems integration lab preferred
- Military rotorcraft qualification preferred
- Experience with Enovia, DOORS, and Serena Dimensions preferred
- C/C++ code preferred
- C# test scripts preferred
- GIT preferred
