We are seeking a talented and compassionate hair stylist to join our team at a residential treatment facility for at-risk youth. The Hair Stylist will provide services to our residents in a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate must have experience working with young people, a flexible schedule, and the ability to work weekends and evenings. The applicant will manage the salon area independently and ensure that it is well-maintained and clean at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Provide quality haircuts, styling, and other salon services to our residents of all hair types
• Manage the salon area independently and ensure that it is well-maintained and clean at all times
• Keep accurate records of services provided and maintain confidentiality
• Build relationships with our residents and help them to feel comfortable and confident
• Communicate effectively with other staff members to coordinate services and ensure a smooth operation

Qualifications:

• Valid state cosmetology license and managing license
• At least one year of experience working as a hair stylist
• Experience working with at-risk youth or in a similar environment preferred
• Ability to work with all hair types and textures
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy

Working Conditions: This is a part-time position with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. The Hair Stylist will work in a residential treatment facility for at-risk youth and may be exposed to challenging behaviors and situations.

Foundations for Living, a subsidiary of UHS (Universal Health Services, Inc.), is a residential treatment facility for at-risk youth. Our staff provide a therapeutic environment for youth to allow them to heal. The Foundations for Living mission is to provide an environment of safety where youth feel empowered to heal the wounds of the past and build a foundation of hope for the future.

The stylist's primary responsibilities include keeping work stations stocked and clean, sanitizing tools such as scissors and combs; cutting, trimming and shaping, bleaching, dying or timing hair using applicator or brush. Shampooing, rinsing, etc.. The stylist will also teach residents proper hygiene and hair care and how to properly maintain their hair, seeing resident every 4-5 weeks depending on certain situations.

Job Requirements: The cosmetologist must be licensed in the state of Ohio as a Cosmetologist and have a valid Advanced Cosmetologist Certification.
