Gym Attendant Job at City of Dublin, Ohio

Gym Attendants at the Dublin Community Recreation Center (DCRC) ensure fair and safe participation in all gym activities and programs for members and guests. The DCRC hosts an array of activities in the gymnasium including sport leagues, parent/child classes, open gyms, and fitness classes.
Scheduling/Availability: The nature of this position requires the successful candidate to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may vary during the following:
- Weekdays: 8am-9:30pm
- Weekends: 8am-8pm

Gym Attendant duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Set-up and break-down of volleyball, badminton, pickleball, and basketball equipment.
- Facilitating recreational sports, leagues, and classes, as well as operating the score clock when needed.
- Maintaining cleanliness of the gym including sweeping floors, putting away equipment, picking up trash, and stocking ice bags.
- Documenting and assisting with any injuries or accidents.
- Knowing and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures.
- Properly documenting any incidents and dismissing disorderly patrons if necessary.
- Conducting hourly participant counts.
- Attending scheduled staff meetings.
- Wearing your proper uniform so you are easily identifiable by members, guests, and co-workers.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Ability to lift and move objects including basketball, pickleball, badminton, and volleyball equipment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work diligently and efficiently.
- Ability to work conscientiously and courteously with the public.
- Possession of a valid American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
All positions within this job classification have been designated as casual in nature and all employees serving in such positions are considered to be casual employees. Casual employees serve strictly at the pleasure of the City and their employment may be terminated at any time for any reason, with or without cause.
