Groundskeeper - Seasonal Job at Caroline County, VA
Job Description
Performs grounds maintenance, such as cutting grass, litter control, weed eating, seeding, raking leaves, fertilizing and edging.
Trims, tops and removes tress, bushes and hedges.
Prepares facilities, grounds and sports fields for recreational use by dragging, lining and setting up goals, bleachers, tables, chairs, etc.
Sets up, takes down and cleans up for special events and other activities.
Moves furniture, filing cabinets and other items as needed.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Groundskeeper - Seasonal - Good practical knowledge of park grounds and facilities maintenance practices.
Working knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment.
Ability to make adjustments and perform maintenance to equipment. Groundskeeper - Seasonal - High School Diploma or equivalent required with experience working with small tools and proficiency on at least one piece of related equipment preferred - OR - Any equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable. Physical Requirements
Routine exposure to severe weather, dust, pollen, noises, fumes, vibrations and repetitiveness.
Outside working 80% of the time, inside shop 20% of the time
Required to stand, walk, use hands, finger, handle, feel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
Routine lifting of objects up to 75 pounds
Travels between project sites
Must be able to work from step or extension ladders Additional Information
Requires valid Virginia Driver's License
May work beyond normal work schedule
