POSITION: Regional Sales Account Manager (California)

JOB SUMMARY

Regional sales Account Manager will establish and manage sales relationships within their assigned territory, while providing retailers with a high level of service, expertise, and support. They are experts in working strategically to improve specialty coffee sets, fill voids, confirm execution of off-shelf agreements and TPR price points, and maximize promotional spending. This position will require regular travel throughout both northern and southern California.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and strengthen relationships with store level buyers, managers and store staff at independent, specialty, gourmet and Co-Op buyers, and store staff.

2. Develop positive and trusting relationships with all our retailers and coffee purveyors.
3. Ensure coffee brands are well represented in stores with approved SKUs.
4. Be an expert in the specialty coffee set with an emphasis on hyper local coffee within the region.
5. Be proactive in supporting retailers with resets, displays and or demos.
6. Proactively recommend ways to increase local coffee purveyors.
7. Provide administrative support for regional retailers.
8. Provide field level support for assigned area, working with their lead.
9. Stay aware of and report on efforts by competitors regarding new items, new pricing, new packaging, etc.
10. Be proactive in generating ideas for growing our principals’ business and make suggestions for improvement.
11. Work closely with the VP of Sales to provide supporting data to retailers that tells a compelling sales story of business feature and benefits.

MEASURABLE OBJECTIVES

1. Be a specialty coffee expert within your region with a focus on “local” and present to Buyers
2. Implement improvements in coffee set for brands (with store approval) and secondary (off-shelf) placements. Includes but not limited to getting closer to filling voids gaining eye-level position, brand blocking, adding facings/increasing shelf space, color breaking, changing SKU flow, etc.

3. Call on stores regularly to fill voids and introduce new items.
4. Ongoing and timely communication with Whisha Team.
5. Store visits to complete audits of Whisha coffee set with suggestions for opportunities. Fill voids per planogram.
6. Quarterly progress report and brainstorming meetings with Whisha Team
7. Identify, develop and open new market opportunities and accounts.
8. Work with the VP of sales on promotions, submit paperwork as needed, and audit at store level

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a working vehicle and be able to travel independently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. independently.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

TERRITORY AND ACCOUNTS

Territory includes both Northern and Southern California.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

Reports directly to VP of Sales

SALARY RANGE OF POSITION

$80,000 $85,000 + Performance based Incentives.
