The Work You Will Do:

Organization: Shared Services Program/Budget, Grants and Personnel Section within the Division of Water Resource Management

Program Description: The Shared Services Program/Budget, Grants and Personnel Section provides Division-wide support for budget, personnel, contracts, grant agreements and incoming grants

Position Title: Government Operations Consultant III

Position Description: This position will assist the Division’s Budget Coordinator with tracking, reconciling and reporting on all expenditures and revenues. In addition, this position will handle Interagency agreements and assist the contracts team.

Position Location: Leon County; Bob Martinez Center; 2600 Blair Stone Road, Tallahassee, Florida

This position plays a critical role in providing support to the staff within the Division of Water Resource Management that is responsible for implementing state laws providing for the protection of the quality of Florida’s drinking water, groundwater, rivers, lakes, estuaries and wetlands; and the reclamation of mined lands. help to ensure Florida’s resources are protected.

Pay:

$45,848.06 - $50,000.00 (Commensurate with experience)

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • Tracks and reconciles incoming revenue for various division programs
  • Tracks and reconciles expenditures for all division programs
  • Prepares monthly reports for revenue and expenditures for leadership team
  • Processes FLAIR correction requests as assigned
  • Manages Interagency agreements to ensure they are implemented accordingly
  • Manages contracts and grant agreements as assigned
  • Initiates purchase request using My Florida Market Place (MFMP) as assigned
  • Review and approve divisions refunds related to fees collected by the division
  • Manages payment verifications, outstanding payments not allocated, linked payments not reconciled and processes deposits using the departments Cash Receiving Application (CRA)
  • Assigned special projects by Division management as needed
  • Performs other duties as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to review and monitor policies and procedures for compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to assess budgetary needs.
  • Ability to formulate policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research.
  • Ability to work independently.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Associates Degree or 4 years work experience
