SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
HOURS
Monday-Thursday, 5:30am-3:00pm; Friday, 5:30am-9:30am
Overtime is worked on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning
POSITION SUMMARY
Perform wall fabrication and glaze windows using all glazing methods, techniques and materials required
POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Perform window fabrication and assembly responsibilities including manufacturing screw construction and blind installation
- Locate, organize and install window hardware
- Inspect units prior to prepping for glazing to ensure that all production steps prior to this have been done correctly
- Follow standard procedures for preparing units to glaze
- Operate small hand tools, chop saw and drill press for processing units to be glazed
- Cap units as required
- Final inspection of prepped unit to ensure that all joints are sealed properly
- Perform wet/dry glaze (priming units, set gaskets in silicone, etc.)
- Accurate and timely completion of required department documentation, both electronic and paper
- Adhere to established safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all associates
- Adhere to established policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support Six Sigma/Lean and the continuous improvement process
- Proficient use of computer systems and intranet functions
- May be required to perform other company duties as needed to assist other departments as requested

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILL and KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to read and understand prints, die drawings and other supporting documentation
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Communicate effectively in a verbal and a written manner
- Knowledge of window and curtainwall product and processes
- Computer software proficiency in the following:
CTO-Pro View
Intranet
ERP software (Epicor/MES)
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Work quickly and accurately
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to stand, reach, bend, talk, hear and move about the facility. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Distances and Heights:
Distance from Fabricator or Glazer is ~10 feet. Moving cart with finished product ~20 feet.
Tools and Equipment Used
PPE (Safety glasses, Protective gloves, Safety Shoes, Single Use Ear Plugs), manipulator, crane, anti-fatigue mat, adjustable table, item rack, mechanical lifts, glazing gun, weights to hold glass down, hand towels, glaze scraper.
Distances and Heights:
Getting materials cart can range from 10-15 feet.
Tools and Equipment Used
PPE (Safety glasses, Protective gloves, Safety Shoes, Single Use Ear Plugs), cart, spray bottle, anti-fatigue mat, adjustable table, power tools, torque gun, bolts, screws, firewall, rip-pin-gun, manipulator, lift, controller for lift & manipulator.
Some products may require a firewall be put on. This is a metal sheet on one side of the product. Associate would need to get underneath the complete frame and use a power tool and a sealant and/or screws to secure the firewall.
