What to Expect
The Distribution General Manager will oversee all operations of the Distribution Center. This includes, but not limited to, employee safety, productivity, all material movements and transactions, inventory, on time execution and delivery of energy, storage and infrastructure products. The Distribution Associate Manager will lead a single operation/facility, which delivers materials to both internal and external customers. Strong understanding of Tesla Solar Roof and Energy products preferred.
What You’ll Do- Oversee execution and metrics of multi-shift operation distribution center
- Train, coach and develop personnel.
- Improves distribution operations by enforcing safety programs, operational execution expectations, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Reports and manages all environmental health and safety (EHS) incidents from analysis to root cause and closes all action items; injuries, illnesses, property/equipment damage, releases, etc.
- Aligns with all Tesla policies, procedures and legal regulations while creating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Networks with functional support (IT, Inventory Control, Safety, Planning, Install Operations) to further develop relationships and improve connectivity of goals and objectives
- Ensure material is properly received, stocked, picked and shipped on time, every time.
- Maintain 100% accuracy for distribution center inventory.
- Escalate and provide solutions to issues inhibiting the team from obtaining goals and business objectives.
- Assist in development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Propose solutions for distribution center layout to optimize space and productivity.
- Maintaining all material handling equipment (and documentation of)
- Develop/Implement 5S/visual management standards for distribution center.
- Provide excellent customer experience for internal and external customers.
- Continually evaluate manpower needs to ensure operation is properly staffed to support the forecasted demand.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of prior experience in manufacturing/warehouse/kitting operations and leading large matrixed organizations
- Proven ability to lead others through influence and direct authority.
- Strong work ethic.

- Experience working with computers and warehouse management systems.
- Has great attention to detail.
- Able to plan, organize and manage multiple projects with competing demands and deadlines.
- Exemplify teamwork, interacting with employees of all levels of the organization.

- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time in warehouse setting
- Ability to stoop/crouch and push/full materials as required.
