JOST INTERNATIONAL IS HIRING FOR A GENERAL MAINTENANCE POSITION IN GRAND HAVEN, MICHIGAN
JOST International belongs to the JOST World family headquartered in Neu Isenberg Germany. Our history began on January 1, 1981, in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Michigan location is both the North America corporate headquarters and the landing gear and king pin manufacturing plant. JOST sells to semi-truck and trailer builders, and we currently hold over 70% market share worldwide in the heavy-duty truck Landing Gear industry.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE INTRODUCTION:
This position reports to Maintenance Manager. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

Under the direction of the department manager, assists in ensuring that the JOST International machinery run to maximum efficiency and output. This includes basic work associated with preventative maintenance and machinery breakdowns. Is also responsible to support the day to day work load of the maintenance team. Also performs general work in facilities and grounds maintenance.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:

• Construction/modification/installation of pallet racks, stands, carts, signs, and other various fabrications needed to support plant and facility projects

• Supports/involved with kaizen teams, continuous improvement projects, engineering team from a general maintenance/fabrication support

• Ability to take concepts and create needed details to complete the project.

• Support maintenance technicians as needed.

• Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned, and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or GED certification.

• Ability to gain certification in and safe working knowledge of fork lift, hoist, scissors lifts and similar operations.

• Able to follow and adhere to proper lock out/tag out procedures as defined by company rules and OSHA.

• Basic mechanical aptitude and skills for maintenance and operation of company tools and equipment

• Working knowledge in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook.

• Capable of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

• Highly dependable, motivated and self-driven with excellent attendance.

• Able to take direction, contribute as a highly successful team member and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail in work.

• Ability to communicate effectively and with clarity.

• Basic experience and aptitude to learn and understand mechanical, electrical Hydraulic, pneumatic

• Ability to learn lean manufacturing techniques and recognized Quality Control tools

• Experience in MIG welding.

• Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of JOST Basic Processes and company products.

• Ability to follow company quality, safety, environmental policies, procedures and practices with the understanding of regulatory requirements (OSHA, MIOSHA).

GENERAL MAINTENANCE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work is performed in both primarily in production plant and/or manufacturing setting with occasional work performed outside on facilities and grounds.

• While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; sit, stand, walk, see, hear, reach, bend, twist, push, pull and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift or move objects of 51 pounds or less with or without assistance.
