MTI Business Segment: Performance Materials

Position: Production Operator

Location: North America | USA | Lovell, WY

The Performance Materials segment is a leading supplier of bentonite and bentonite-related products, as well as chromite and leonardite, to industrial and consumer markets globally. Products offered by the Performance Materials segment include specially formulated green sand bond solutions for metalcasting, additives for powdered laundry detergent formulation, and pet litter. This segment operates more than 25 mining or production facilities worldwide. The Performance Materials segment also provides products for non-residential construction, environmental and infrastructure projects worldwide. It serves customers engaged in a broad range of construction projects, including site remediation, concrete waterproofing for underground structures, liquid containment on projects ranging from landfills to flood control, and drilling applications including foundation, slurry wall, tunneling, water well and horizontal drilling.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Operator at our Lovell, WY location. Production Operators are responsible for performing various production related tasks throughout the facility and may be assigned to work in one or more production areas depending on company needs. These tasks can include but are not limited to control room operations, packaging materials, operating mobile equipment, and loading and unloading trucks and boxcars.

Position Details:

  • -Promote and foster an environment where safety and quality are the top priorities
  • Follow and enforces all safety, quality, and production policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and well-kept work area
  • Operate drying, milling, and screening equipment to meet products and customer requirements
  • Package materials according to product requirements, production schedule, and customer requirements
  • Load products for shipment according to pick tickets, shipping documents, and customer requirements
  • Perform incoming and outgoing product inspections
  • Complete/ensure completion of all required paperwork
  • Operate mobile equipment (e.g. forklifts, skid steers, sweepers)
  • Performs rework/restack tasks; ensures that rework/restack is performed regularly
  • Perform minor trouble shooting of equipment as needed
  • Interface/communicate with other employees and departments to ensure successful task completion
  • Additional duties may be assigned as determined by management

*This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.

  • Training: Required safety, quality, and job training will be provided.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Travel: Very little to none
  • Working Conditions: Manufacturing setting (warehouse, production areas, office)
  • Work Hours: Typically, day shift or rotating. Non-standard working hours may be required on occasion.
  • Safety: Facility falls under MSHA regulation. Personal protective equipment will be provided.
  • Other: Ability to safely operate mobile equipment; prior forklift training/operation strongly preferred; excellent written and verbal communication skills; prior production related experience preferred; must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.; must be able to lift, sit, or stand for long periods of time in sometimes harsh condition
