HSS is currently seeking an Garnishment Specialistfor our Atlanta office located at

1117 Perimeter Center West, Suite E401 Atlanta, GA 30338.

This position is a hybrid schedule and would require you to come in 2-3 days a week as well as work a rotational Saturday from 1-4 pm 1-2 times a month.

Job Purpose

Responsible for accurately reviewing and processing any court-ordered wage garnishments such as child support, wage assignments, bankruptcy orders, state and federal tax levies, and student loans in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. Responsible for all in-house payroll production, including all daily activities as defined by the Payroll Manager. Responsible for production and fulfillment of all weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing including both exempt and non-exempt employees.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • This person will work a hybrid weekly schedule and work an on call Saturday rotational schedule of 4 hours each Saturday (approximately one Saturday per month).
  • Will utilize ADP WFN and Avionte.
  • Review, and enter garnishments in payroll system.
  • Answer all garnishments in a timely manner. Provide copies to affected employees.
  • Issue and mail garnishment checks on a weekly basis.
  • Handle all payroll production, including batch payroll processing, garnishment check printing, and fulfillment.
  • Handle all Direct Deposit and Pay Card enrollment volume.
  • Demonstrate accountability, compliance, and adherence to HSS policies and procedures, and confidentiality.
  • Serve as backup to Payroll Manager.
  • Develops and improves processes and procedures and ensures tracking and reporting of team metrics.
  • Manage multiple tasks while responding effectively to changing priorities.
  • Partner with internal and external customers to ensure accounts are set up accurately and in a timely manner.

Skills/Qualifications

  • 3-5 years high volume payroll experience including garnishments, preferred
  • Experience with ADP mandatory (Preferably WFN)
  • Strong knowledge with Excel and Microsoft suite
  • Strong attention to details, goal oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Expected to foster goodwill and teamwork internally and externally
  • Deliver high levels of responsiveness and exceptional customer service
  • Effectively executes, tracks timely completion of project activities & milestones
  • Build trust and credibility through effective demonstration of methodology expertise
  • Proactively seek input and advise from others; foster collaboration and ideation sharing
  • Challenges the status quo; probes beyond symptoms to find underlying cause
  • Assist in identifying process, policy & procedures, documentation and implementation
