Successful candidate must live within 20-30 miles of Deadwood.

This position is designated as a Class B member by the South Dakota Retirement System (SDRS).

Licenses and Certifications:

Successful candidate must possess a South Dakota Law Enforcement Certification or have the ability to obtain within 1 year.

Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment.

• establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers, other agencies and the public;
• work weekends and non-standard work hours in a rotating schedule;

• become South Dakota Law Enforcement certified within the first year of employment.
