SUMMARY:
This position is a fulltime Collective Bargaining Unit position working under the National Training Center Training Support Contract (NTCTSC) at the National Training Center (NTC) located at Fort Irwin, CA.
As a member of the G2CUOPS section, the Intel Specialist evaluates and distributes information based on unit trends and enemy courses of action. The Specialist provides timely assessments, actionable triggers, and guidance that directly impacts the pace of the rotational training unit. During daily operations, the Specialist must maintain a common operating picture and leverage key reconnaissance platforms that the unit and planners can view as a tool or planning guide for future operations.
Essential Functions:
- Requests, collects, analyzes, produces, and distributes all-source intelligence-derived analytical products and time-sensitive enemy combat information for a Brigade Combat Team (BCT) in a scenario driven training environment at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, CA.
- Additionally, responsible for processing and implementing the G2 Operations Collection Management/Request for Information (RFI) functions in support of the Rotation Training Unit (RTU).
- Develops and implements the Division Intelligence Collection Synchronization Matrix (ICSM) and the integration of available Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms throughout the rotation.
- Assists in the coordination and integration of virtual Unmanned Aerial Surveillance (UAS) operations and the development of virtual ISR assets into the ICSM.
- Develops, analyzes, and produces intelligence products to support Operations Group and RTU briefings and other requirements.
- Coordinates and integrates the utilization of various NTC-assigned intelligence-discipline subject matter experts.
- Provides input in the integration of intelligence systems to NTC intelligence architecture.
- Is a participant in Exercise Control (EXCON) target management.
- Operate tactical and Range Communication System (RCS) radio systems in accordance with proper procedures and etiquette
- Work as an integrated team to provide input, support, and technical knowledge for new indoctrination programs and refresher training for peers
- Provide professional and courteous customer service
- Adhere to Post, Corporate, Site, Safety, Security and CBA guidance, standards, policies, and practices
- Work to a schedule that provides 24-hour rotational coverage to include shifts, weekends, holidays, and over time as required
- Perform all other duties as assigned
JOB PREREQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Educational Equivalent: Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree in Military Intelligence or related field desired.
- Experience: Five (5) years' experience in similar or related field.
- Specific Knowledge: Preference and desires include former officer or NCO with a minimum of 4 years military experience as a military All-Source Intel Analyst, Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 35 series. Experience with intelligence operating systems i.e., DCGS-A – is preferred. Additional preferences include Combat Training Center (CTC) experience, Officer Advance Course, Advance NCO Course, and Battle Staff Course graduate.
- Licenses/Certifications/Registrations, etc.: Valid California Driver's License and maintain Post driving privileges. Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) to utilize government operating systems. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must be able to obtain Military licenses & Night Vision certification if required and travel off road in company vehicles and military tactical vehicles if required
- Skills Required: Complete knowledge of computer operations, to include, Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS-A), Command Post of the Future (CPOF), Microsoft Office applications and Windows Operating System. Capable of utilizing investigative/fact finding processes. Capable of identifying, diagnosing, and analyzing problems and formulating recommendations, solutions and alternative methods.
- Communication Skills: Able to read, write and speak fluent English. Must be able to listen with comprehension to assist fellow associates with duties/requests. Must have excellent verbal communication skills for interfacing with military and civilian personnel.
- Physical/Mental Abilities Required: Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks at the same time under stressful conditions. The highest level of confidentiality and loyalty is required.
Working Conditions:
Position: Office environment, occasionally outdoors with exposure to dust, desert pollen, extreme heat and cold associated with desert environment and natural conditions existing on Fort Irwin. Applicants must be willing to work any shift to include weekends, overtime and holidays. Travel may be required.
