Blast Cleaning Technologies is one of the fastest growing shotblast manufacturers in the world. Located in the historic renovated Allis Chalmers building in West Allis we are proud to announce the expansion of our manufacturing to include a new state-of-art Cast Products facility which is also located in West Allis. Our new Cast Products facility will feature the latest technology for the precision casting of shot blast wear components as well as utilization of new eco-friendly products that will create a cleaner working environment. We are looking for motivated Foundry technicians ready to contribute in all areas of our plant to create a truly remarkable, world-class facility.
General Description
Under the direction of the VP Cast Products, Foundry Technicians will be instrumental in the manufacturing of world class products to meet the demands of our BCT customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • The role of Foundry Technician will include the ability to work on various tasks that you would typically see in the foundry industry.
  • Some exposure to ERP data entry and production, quality, and calibration documentation.
  • Pattern inspection and preparation to meet schedule demand
  • Mold set up
  • Sand, binder / catalyst calibration
  • Gating and thermal sleeve installation
  • Tucking / packing and strike off of mold
  • Mold strip / Core set / Mold close & clamp
  • Heat set up
  • Melt furnace preparation Furnace charge
  • Chemistry control
  • Metal sampling and additions / adjustments
  • Ladle preparation / Pouring
  • Casting shakeout / Gating & riser removal
  • Crane operation
  • Shot blast operation
  • Forklift and Skid steer operation
  • Facility cleaning and stocking
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Help drive and support BCT's Culture and Core Values

Qualifications

  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Melt, poring and Air set molding or Investment lost wax preferred.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to achieve results.

Education and/or Experience
5+ years of foundry related experience in any of the following: Melt, pouring and Air set molding, or investment lost wax is preferred.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The incumbent will regularly talk and listen, climb, or balance and reach above shoulders. The employee will occasionallylift to 50 pounds and maneuver several hundred pounds a short distance. The employee will frequently lift to 25 pounds. Employees will frequently use material handling equipment, such as forklifts and cranes.
Work Environment
This job operates in a factory environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is often loud enough to require hearing protection
