Our Foundry Technicians are responsible for producing quality cast iron parts used to create Hearth & Home Technologies’ industry-leading fireplaces, stoves and hearth products, inclusive of the iconic Vermont Castings brand. You can advance your skills by learning the various rotation of the melt and mold process, including set up and operation of DISA equipment, furnaces, and sand system.
Successful candidates will be able to read and perform basic math functions to determine mold specifications, production counts, work-in-process, and product specifications, follow written and pictorial standard work instructions, communicate clearly and effectively with others, and complete quality and safety checks.
Advanced skills include operation of a variety of material handling equipment such as Bobcat, Forklift, Yard Truck, Sweeper, and operation of a variety of overhead cranes and hoists to move material such as molten metal, slag and refractory containers, furnace components and other equipment weighing from 2 to 10 tons.
