JOB SUMMARY:

The Foster Care Relicensing and Training Specialist works within the Resource Development (RD) Program. RD assists with the recruitment and retention of foster parents and child care providers for the Kenosha County Division of Social Services. The Relicensing and Training Specialist also works with individuals interested in becoming licensed as foster parents.

The Relicensing and Foster Parent Training Specialist is responsible for conducting re-licensing studies for current foster homes. Additionally, this position trains and prepares foster parents to successfully foster the children in their care.

SALARY: $19.00 per hour

HOURS: Flexible schedule, about 10-15 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive foster care re-licensing studies and evaluations and assure applicants are in compliance with DCF 56
  • Facilitate Foundation Training and Pre-Placement Training for foster parents.
  • Maintain contact and provide support to foster parents.
  • Promote retention through the re-licensing process.
  • Assist with program recruitment and retention, as needed.
  • Prepare, develop and facilitate elective trainings to foster parents
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or another related field is preferred.
  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
