FORKLIFT OPERATOR (NON-EXEMPT)

We are looking to hire Forklift Operators. We are seeking experienced and OSHA certified operators to operate various types of forklifts, for example Turret, Cherry/Order Picker, Sit Down Forklift, and Electric Pallet Jack to support our busy and growing Distribution location. The ideal candidate should have previous MHE experience in a distribution and/or manufacturing warehouse environment.
The position is located in our Memphis Warehouse location to support that user group and will report to the Warehouse Supervisor.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates various types of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to move goods within the warehouse
- Required to meet established production requirements
- Pays close attention to detail regarding product quality and verifies SKU’s and quantities when moving products
- Adheres to safety guidelines when operating forklifts, including the usage of personal protective equipment, i.e. harnesses and seatbelts
- Safely operates equipment, paying special attention to pedestrian traffic
- Performs other warehouse duties as needed, working in areas such as picking, reboxing, etc.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime hours as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least six (6) months of related experience and/or training
- Certificate of proficiency or license in the operation of standard industrial forklift equipment
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- OSHA Forklift certified
- Understanding of OSHA and safety requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and effectively present information to other employees of the organization
- Previous certification and experience operating Material Handling Equipment
- Possesses basic math skills
Level of Responsibility:
- Interact regularly and follow up with internal and external parties based on direction of management, presents information for decision making to manager, and the requires ability to independently manage their own daily tasks and projects as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position does not supervise employees.

This person is occasionally required to operate and/or ride on material handling equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work will be performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to changing temperatures. While performing the duties of this job, this person is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
