The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for appointment to the position of Food Service Manager 5 (FSM5) at Clallam Bay Corrections Center.
Clallam Bay Corrections Center is a 900 bed male facility located on the point of the Olympic Peninsula. It is 50 miles west of Port Angeles and looks out over the Strait of Juan de Fuca at Vancouver Island. This facility houses medium and close custody offenders. CBCC also operates an Intensive Management Unit.

Duties
Duties:

Plan, direct and supervise the work of the Food Service Department staff, which includes Food Manager 1, Correctional Sergeant, Cook A/C's and Correctional Officers. - Establish and prioritize performance expectations for staff utilizing core correctional practices.
- Direct the security and accountability of Incarcerated Individuals assigned to the Food Services Department.
- Prepare weekly facility menu ensuring compliance with HQ menu and nutritional standards.
- Direct and monitor meal preparation and delivery. Monitor amount prepared, quality and portions served ensuring protocols are followed.
- Monitor and ensure all health, safety and sanitation standards associated with Food Service are consistent with expectations that are mandated by local, county, state and federal guidelines.
- Prepare, monitor and analyze food cost summaries and reports.
- Assist with the development of and implementation of new or updated DOC policies, operational memoranda and facility rules and procedures related to Food Service.
- Participate as a member of the management team through committees, investigations and meetings.
Qualifications
Required:
1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
AND
Four years of supervisory or lead work experience in large-scale food operations involving work in the planning, organization and production of meals, food procurement, storage and preparation or closely related work.
A Bachelor's degree involving the major study in institutional food management, restaurant management or dietics may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
OR
Two years' experience as a WGS Food service Manager 1, 2, 3, or 4.
Desired Licensing, Certification, or other special requirements and/or conditions:
Possess and maintain a food handler's permit.
