The mission of the Clark County Food Bank is "to alleviate hunger and its root causes." The Food Distribution Associate will work alongside the volunteer and food teams to increase access to healthy and nutritious food in the community. The position will lead our mobile food distribution programming, which includes drive-thru events, school pantries, and free fresh farmers markets.

The Food Distribution (Food Pantry) programs increase access to fresh and shelf stable foods to community members who are food insecure. The AmeriCorps member will support and expand these programs by engaging community volunteers and organizations.

Primary Duties:

• Lead food distribution activities at food pantry sites, engage with clients while they are shopping for food.
• Order, deliver and off-load food orders in a large transit van.
• Assist with other food distribution activities including school pantries, home delivery and SNAP application programs.
• Attend organization meetings and events as it is related to the project.
• Communicate with, support, and lead volunteers in food distribution programs.
• Attend professional development activities and training.

Schedule: 40 hours per week.Flexibility to serve after 5pm and on weekends.

This position is an AmeriCorps role.

Program Benefits: $2890.48 Monthly living stipend, $6400 Education award upon successful completion of service, Childcare assistance if eligible, Training, Health Coverage .

Terms: Permits attendance at school during off hours , Permits working at another job during off hours , Car recommended. Valid drivers license required.
