Position Summary:
The Food and Nutrition Coordinator directs and oversees daily services of the nutrition service department. Actively participates and coordinates food service for patients, employees, catering, coffee shops, employees and visitors. Ensures adequate daily staffing, timeliness of service and standards of service. Responsible for the procurement, storage, preparation, service and disposal of foods within the guidelines and budget established. Trains and orientates new employees and provides input to evaluations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 year of food service experience
- Preferred: ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversees daily services of the nutrition service employees.
- Participates and coordinates food services for patients, employees and visitors.
- Ensures adequate daily staffing, timeliness of service and standards of service.
- Trains and orientates new employees.
- Ensure and maintains optimal sanitation and safety standards.
- Communicates and coordinates food services with nursing and other ancillary departments in the absence of the Manager.
- Participates with leadership to assess, measure and improve departmental performance.
- Leads, teaches, inspires, helps and consistently demonstrates hospital system behavioral standards.
