Sportsplex in New Windsor, NY is searching for the next standout addition to their team! The role of the Fitness Director includes hiring and managing the personal training and group exercise teams, as well as being the lead for all things fitness for the club, from new member onboarding to program development and more. The Fitness Director is responsible for ensuring that each Personal Trainer exemplifies the company's culture and values. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills and is able to balance multiple roles. They must be client-centered, work well with others, and be a strong leader to staff and members alike.

For over 25 years, Sportsplex has been a state-of-the-art fitness facility offering robust programming for all ages. This includes swimming, tennis, summer camp, pre-school, childcare, fitness classes, and personal training. We are committed to providing the ultimate health and fitness experience in the area.

What you will be doing:

• Create and execute a plan to increase member retention
• Facilitate a clearly defined system to orient members to the fitness center, classes and programs
• Hire, direct, train, develop and motivate the fitness team to exceed member service expectations and drive personal training and fitness program income
• Schedule staff in order to maximize service while meeting budgetary needs
• Oversee staff performance appraisals; set and measure achievement of goals
• Coordinate and execute an annual plan of programs and special events through the fitness center.
• Market programs and special events to ensure success; especially via social media and FB pages
• Maintain a consistent stream of personal training clients.
• Schedule and facilitate team meetings.
• Provide a variety of small group training sessions.
• Provide health coaching, both private and group programs
• Being aware of & consistently adhering to daily operational concerns, such as proper cleanliness of the fitness center and being presentable at all times within professional standards.
• Being proactive with the implementation of innovative ideas, and new programming options and fitness trends.

Essential Requirements:

• Current certifications from ACSM, NSCA, NASM or ACE (one is required from a nationally recognized organization)
• Degree in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology - preferred
• 3 or more years experience in a similar position
• Current adult CPR/AED certification
• Current group exercise certification(s), as appropriate
• Computer competency, especially in Google Suite and social media

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base salary range 38-42K plus commission and bonuses
