Job Description
Firefighter / Emergency Medical Technician / MEDIC (CERTIFIED)
Hiring Range: $50,049 - $58,021 (Hiring Range DOQ / DOE)
Average Annual Earnings: add approximately $3,500 per annum (includes overtime and holiday pay)
FLSA Status: Full-time, Non - Exempt (eligible for overtime)
This position will be required to work rotating 24 hour shifts at a variety of station locations throughout the County. This position will be required to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays while preparing for and responding to emergency calls from the public.
PREREQUISITIES:
Minimum of 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Valid Driver"s License
Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC 1, 2, 3)
Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic or Above
Current CPR Certification (BLS Healthcare Professional or equivalent)
Firefighter II (ProBoard) - May have to attend a full-time regional Fire Academy (DOE)
Departmental training provided and career advancement encouraged. Eligible applicants must successfully complete a written examination, physical agility test, oral assessment panel, NFPA 1582 medical clearance, criminal background, polygraph, Chief"s interview, and drug screening.

Hiring Range: $50,049 - $58,021 (Hiring Range DOQ / DOE)

- Annual ALS Release Bonus: $3,000 AEMT, $5,000 Paramedic, $6,000 Advanced Practice Paramedic
- 50% credit for full-time experience in municipal Fire or EMS Department up to Step 6.
- Now offering: VRS Public Safety - Hazardous Duty Retirement w/ 1.85% multiplier
