Resource Innovations is seeking a Financial Coordinator to join our team. The Financial Coordinator will support a large-scale Market Transformation (MT) program to benefit California ratepayers. There is a strong preference for California residents, but remote candidates will be considered. As a Financial Coordinator, you will work on a team that administers a large statewide program to save energy. Working alongside the Director of Business Operations and other staff, the position is responsible for completing a range of invoicing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting tasks. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support budget development for assigned areas, working closely with management.
- Develop and maintain budget tracking spreadsheets
- Produce internal and client facing budget status and forecast reports, including support for ad hoc budget updates/reports.
- Help to develop methodologies and spreadsheet tools for forecasting RI internal revenue and costs for assigned projects.
- Works with an assigned project accountant to create and deliver monthly invoices to client.
- Obtains, tracks and processes invoices from RI subs, submitting them for payment, and tracking subcontractor budgets relative to funding.
- Supports the monthly accruals process, receiving accruals info from subs, and producing and delivering monthly accruals reports to client.
- Supports other financial reporting tasks and projects as needed.
- Support other functions of the business operations team, which can include reports to clients, organizing meetings, or assisting contracts, as needed
Requirements
- B.A. degree in accounting or finance preferred or B.A. / B.S. Degree in related field
- 2+ years of finance and/or accounting experience; if degree is other than accounting or finance, then must have at least 3 years of related work experience in accounting/finance.
- Must be self-motivated, highly organized, articulate, and possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Results oriented. Able to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of inter-cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness.
- Flexible team player who is willing to pitch in where needed.
- Experience working in the clean energy/energy efficiency industry preferred
- Experience working in a startup environment preferred.
- Experience working in Oracle Accounting System preferred
