Job Purpose:

This individual provides support to the finance department and the CFO as it relates to the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of the financial reporting, accounting and operational functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides supervisory support for the day-to-day operations of the accounting staff including the accounting procedures and internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing), preparation and/or review of bank reconciliations, review JE's for movement of funds and provides support for FX queue calls when necessary.
  • Preparation of month-end and year-end corporate and consolidated financial statements including equity method accounting, foreign currency translation, along with operational and supporting documentation required to complete the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Substantiates and verifies expenditures and expense reports and/ or check issuance for the same.
  • Randomly audits operational finance work flow to assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately recorded or authorized.
  • Works as member of the team preparing work-papers for the year-end financial audit.
  • Documents and prepares the corporate consolidated and the owner's individual federal and state annual income tax returns for final review by an external CPA firm.
  • Preparation and filing of annual 1099's for agency commission payments.
  • Assists with corporate tax projects, as needed.
  • Works on special projects and provides assistance to the finance department, as needed.

Skills/Qualifications

  • General Ledger skills, Financial Reporting skills, writing skills, Microsoft Office skills, Finance operations skills, Analysis skills, problem solving skills, good verbal communication, presentation skills, organized and professional.
  • Able to speak, write, read in both English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of US tax laws, GAAP, BSA/ AML regulations, bank account reconciliations, general ledger, Financial Statement preparation and FX Exchange.
  • High degree of trust, honesty and discretion for dealing with confidential information.
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel within the US and Mexico for short business trips
  • Spanish language required
  • Job located in Elkhart, IN
