Full Job Description
The Financial Controller/Bookkeeper is responsible for daily financial operations including but not limited to all accounts payable and receivables, general journal entries, bi-weekly payroll, month end and year end closeout. Prepare and provide balanced financial reports at yearend for an accounting firm to complete the yearend tax return. Applicants must be honest, accurate, detailed oriented, and organized. A successful candidate must have the ability to , manage deadlines, resolve conflicts, communicate clearly, and prioritize multiple tasks. Confidentiality and Integrity are crucial to success in this roll.
JOB DUTIES
- Accounts payable tasks including setting up vendors, inputting invoices, making payment, and 1099’s.
- Accounts receivable tasks including invoicing, collecting payment, sending out monthly statements, and bank deposits.
- Payroll tasks including setting up new employees, bi-weekly payroll, tax deposit, quarterly reports, unemployment requests, garnishments, and W-2’s.
- General ledger entries.
- Maintain customer and vendor account logs, setting up new accounts as needed.
- Coordination of Insurance, Bonding, and Liens for commercial construction projects.
- Month End reporting duties including bank reconciliation, financial statements, review and send invoices, and month end reports.
- Yearend reporting duties including 1099’s, W-2’s, balanced books to the accountant for tax return, yearend adjusting entries.
- Coordinate all financial requests for information from customers, vendors, government agencies, co-workers, etc.
- Maintain accurate and organized file system.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or applicable bookkeeping experience.
- Valid Montana driver’s license.
- Experience with financial software packages Peachtree preferred or equivalent experience with similar programs.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Proficiency in English Language.
- Good written and oral communications.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
- Maintain a positive working environment with coworkers.
- Possess a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prioritization and organizational skills
- Proven capability to manage pressure, deadlines, and conflict resolution.
- Retain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ensure the security of financial information
- Report to work on time, ready to work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
