The Role
Performs economic research and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, and financial and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and income statements. Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management. Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, and document format for data processing equipment. May provide analysis on business development and may monitor business performance by unit or division.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
- Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Preferred Qualifications -
Ensure that invoices are processed accurately and according to purchase order terms.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to processing high volumes of invoices, research and analysis to resolve issues. Communicates extensively with internal and external customers in both written and verbal formats.
Duties –
Processing and paying of invoices affiliated with non-purchase order liabilities.
Responsible for making check payments while adhering to established policies and procedures, work instructions, and key SOX controls.
Develop and maintain collaborative and effective business relationships with buying office and value stream counterparts within Sourcing and Facilities to ensure vendor and supplier payments are made in accordance with negotiated payment terms and that contractual terms and conditions are met.
Provide excellent and timely email and telephone communication with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to communicate with all levels of management.
Preferred experience-
- Ability to work onsite a minimum of 3 days a week
- Knowledge of accounting concepts. Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to integrate and think across multiple processes simultaneously.
- Ability to read, understand and apply terms and conditions in supplier and vendor subcontracts.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Finance/Accounts Payable field.
- Knowledge of NNS charging structure
- Knowledge of the value stream to ensure mail is routed to the correct area of responsibility
- Detailed oriented and organized
- Ability to manage high visibility items with short turnaround time.
