Position Highlights:
Provides financial review, analysis and advisory services of Moffitt Research Institute (MRI)financial information, results and trends to various customers/leaders. Financial Counselor and Lead/Primary contact for 3 Research Divisions (Clinical Science, Population Science, Basic Science) and all of the respective cost centers included in each division. Takes a lead role in forecasting and budgeting for these 3 divisions. Manages and leads the preparation of the annual Faculty Indirect Rebate calculation and closely assists Manager with Faculty Incentive Compensation calculation. Works directly as lead research contact with Financial Administrator - Systems Admin with Oracle Forecasting system as it relates to Research (final implementation, development, and ongoing assessment). Assists Manager in annual completion of Federal Indirect Cost Proposal relating to submission and approval of F&A rate for organization. Lead the completion of the monthly MD&A reporting requirements for Research. Assists in various other projects as requested by internal customers and leadership/management to help create and sustain the highest-level service-oriented department supporting research and institutional efforts and direction. Leads the monthly dashboard reporting and business consulting services to research. Indirectly supervise Financial Specialist on training and additional job duties that will be developed over time to assist in fulfilling the growing number of requests from research.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Preferred – Experience in financial analysis in Healthcare or Academic Research setting
  • Preferred – Experience with planning, budgeting, productivity and forecasting systems.

Credentials and Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in financial analysis, or healthcare finance experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
    • Minimum three (3) years additional experience in accounting/financial analysis/budgeting in a hospital/research setting may be considered in lieu of a CPA, MBA, or MHA, for a total of 10 years’ experience
