ADI's Field Applications Engineers enable the interface between the world’s leading analog, mixed-signal and digital signal processing provider and it’s customers. Field Applications Engineers play a vital role in every customer engagement at Analog Devices, whether that involves creating content for customers (e.g. hardware, software, or documentation) or supporting customers from their architecture design right through to issues that occur in the field.
The candidate will manage a team of Field Application Engineers (FAEs), who support our Strategic and Key Aerospace and Defense customers. The role demands excellent communication and strategic thinking. The role requires the ability to understand, aggregate, and synthesize the technical needs of our customers and FAEs. This position also involves working with Sales, Business Units, and Technology Groups to identify key opportunities and convey the voice of our customers. As a manager, your ability to successfully participate in the recruitment, development, and retention of existing and future FAEs will be essential. Candidate should be well-versed across a wide range of technologies such as RF, mixed signal, digital and power. This position requires frequent visits to customers locations in the United States.
This position can be located at any remote US location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Through close collaboration with FAEs and BUs, ensure customers are fully supported from an Applications Engineering perspective
  • Work with sales teams to optimize customer-centric experience and maximize sales results
  • Act as technical point of contact for regional sales teams
  • Manage, train, and mentor recently hired FAEs
  • Guide FAEs in career and personal development
  • Lead efforts to recruit new FAEs and related technical roles
  • Foster collaborative efforts within the FAE community
  • Drive best practices with focus on strategic and tactical balance
  • Through experience and customer interactions, influence training for the field (FAEs and Sales) on relevant technology
  • Work closely with the Business Units (BUs) to ensure the customer voice is elevated via knowledge of our customers systems and roadmaps
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key Product Lines' Management, Marketing, and Applications personnel
  • Work in concert with the Global Account Managers, Sales, Field Applications and Business Unit teams to develop and execute a successful ADEF technology strategy
  • Collaborate with other FAEs and Global Account Managers to identify areas for increased and accelerated investment, as well as, potential IP synergies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer contacts
  • Have in-depth conversations with customers about ADI ADEF capabilities and aspirations
  • Understand and disseminate customers' system needs versus wants
  • Develop and propose new product ideas to Product Lines to fill customers' needs
  • Compile, understand, and disseminate latest technical developments to FAE teams
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BSEE or equivalent - MSEE preferred
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
  • 10+ years’ experience in product, design, technical marketing and/or field applications engineering or equivalent
  • Diverse RF and mixed signal circuit design experience at the board and system level
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task many projects and set priorities
  • Capability to present to and work with all levels of Management, Sales, and Engineering
  • Travel up to 20%, within the United States
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
