The Requirements
To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Field Service Technician opportunity, you will have:
- An associate degree in Electronics or a similar field is preferred, or the equivalent experience
- Technical experience installing and/or repairing equipment / machinery. Experience with optical, medical, and/or lab equipment is an advantage
- Solid computer skills including experience with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking, TCP/IP protocols required
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to train others on equipment use
You will travel 80-90%, locally and across a multi-state territory. Typically, you'll drive to sites within a half day's distance and fly to more distant locations. Most overnight stays are during the week, meaning you'll be home on the weekends. Training will last six weeks and take place in Dallas or Chicago.
Your Role
Reporting to the Technical Support Supervisor, as Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for traveling to assigned customer sites in order to install, train, repair and maintain lens finishing systems/equipment. This is a physical role. The equipment will be delivered to the site prior to your arrival and you’ll be responsible for unpacking, installing and training its operation.
