ABOUT THE ROLE
The Field Project Manager is responsible for providing onsite services for the Project Management and HBS group including but not limited to field measurements, product inventory, construction meetings, installations, and punch issues. This position acts as the eyes and ears in the field for the office staff supporting Furniture, Build, Lutron, and Space Saver divisions reporting directly to the Market General Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide field measurements for account managers, designers, project coordinators, and project managers.
  • Catalog and verify existing inventory / as-builts for reconfiguration projects.
  • Attend construction meetings to support projects.
  • Act as a point of contact with the GC and customer on construction involved projects.
  • Perform site visits and check construction progress to confirm site readiness for delivery and installation.
  • Assist in problem solving issues with punch, delivery, & installation.
  • Review and oversee punch items with PM, design, and sales to resolve issues timely and efficiently.
  • Act as onsite interface with customers for issues and change orders on projects.
  • Utilize Plangrid for issue documentation, progress updates, and punch resolution.
  • Perform punch walks / project walks on larger installs.
  • Address and fix punch items post install when applicable.
  • Work with Quality Assurance / Design team to identify challenges and reduce errors.
  • Track and log time against projects and detail tasks performed.
  • Provide onsite assistance to HBS with larger projects.
  • Support Furniture, Lutron, Spacesaver, and Architectural solutions including assisting with installations as necessary.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Working knowledge of construction sites.
  • Knowledge of Herman Miller and other commercial furniture manufacturers within HB portfolio.
  • Ability to read commercial furniture, construction, and architectural documents and plans.
  • Experience with project coordination, project management, customer service, and installations in the commercial furniture, interior construction, and condensed filing industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to function in the field with little supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to be trained on Plangrid, Microsoft Office, and CORE.
